B.J. Reece Orchards

B.J. Reece Orchards is a family-owned and operated peach, nectarine and Asian pear orchard, as well as a U-Pick apple orchard during September and October. Tucked away in the North Georgia Mountains, the scenery is breathtaking. They offer hayrides/farm tours, petting farms, pony rides, apple cannons, corn maze , U-pick pumpkins and viewing of exotic animals. Come ready to eat some delicious, made from scratch bakery items like their world famous fried apple pies.

Ott Farms & Vineyard

Ott Vineyards and Winery is located on 20 acres with one of North Georgia's most beautiful mountain views at 180 degrees. Ott has cultivated 12+ acres of French-American hybrids and Vinifera grapes including: Seyval Blac, Traminette, Vidal Blanc, Chambourcin, Lenoire and Cabernet Franc. Family owned and operated, you will often see owners, Michael and Lee, both in the vines and in the tasting room.

Cress Creeks Farm

Farmer's General Store, Fresh Meats, Year-round events, and rustic barn weddings are found on the grounds of Cress Creeks Farm, just past their hillside vineyard! Be sure to stop in for their annual fall season corn maze through our eight-acre fields. A classic wholesome family experience with fun to be had by all. Their on-site farm produces fresh delicate lamb cuts and seasonal vegetables all raised on sight and sold only through our storefront. Be sure to stop in for your favorite items like their Okra chips, professional pastries, and other home-made goodies!

Carter’s Lake

Connected to the river just behind our property, Carters Lake embraces a spectacular tract of foothills scenery in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northwest Georgia. Its sparkling waters and rugged shoreline provide a beautiful surrounding for a variety of recreational opportunities, which include camping, fishing, picnicking, boating, hiking and bird watching. Carters Lake has 3,200 surface acres and is more than 450 feet deep. The lake is named after Farrish Carter, who owned property nearby in the 1800s.

Cartecay River Loop Trail

Experience this 3.4-mile loop trail near Ellijay, Georgia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 25 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Amicalola Falls

Northeast of Dawsonville, Georgia, on the cusp of the North Georgia Mountains, sits Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge. A nature lover’s wonderland, it’s only 8 miles from the Appalachian Trail and within the Chattahoochee National Forest. The park is named after its most treasured feature, Amicalola Falls – a magnificent 729-foot waterfall that’s the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River.

In our humble opinion, this is Ellijay’s finest bakery! High Mountain Bread specializes in sourdough, European pastries, and artisanal sandwiches. Located off Highway 5 North in the Highland Crossings Shopping Plaza, next to Lowes, you’ll find a charming minimalist interior, with 1-2 tables, and the smell of fresh baked goods immediately greeting you as you walk in the door. Try the chocolate almond croissant or the savory Italian sandwich–you can’t go wrong!
